Comelec ready to face May 9 polls complaints

By Katrina Gracia Consebido

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) said Wednesday, May 11, that it is ready to face any formal charges against the poll body over alleged anomalies in the recent May 2022 national and local elections.

Comelec Acting Spokesperson John Rex Laudiangco said the national elections were truthful and credible, and that there are rules and procedures to process complaints.

“Mayroon pong batas, mayroon pong rules. Kung sila po ay may basehan, mayroon po tayong rules of procedures para po proper ang ventilation ng ganitong mga proseso,” Laudiangco said.

“Nakahanda naman po ang Comelec na humarap sa proper forum,” he added.

Meanwhile, there are no major glitches on the transmission of the election results reported to the poll body, according to Comelec. – ag
