Comelec receives 60-K local absentee ballots

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has received 60,000 accomplished local absentee voting ballots as of 6:45 p.m. on May 6.

The ballots are filled out by the members of the Philippine Army (20, 219), Philippine Air Force (2,756), Philippine Navy (293), Philippine Marines (19), Philippine National Police (32,332), Department of Education (1,653), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (750), Bureau of Fire Protection (76), media (868), Commission on Elections (805), Department of Interior and Local Government (17), Philippine Coast Guard (199), Department of Foreign Affairs (1), Public Attorney’s Office (2), Cullion Hospital (1), and National Power Corporation (9).

The local absentee voting was held last April 27 to 29.

A total of 84,357 voters have been allowed by the Comelec to avail of the local absentee voting. -KC/gb
