Concerned agencies alerted on 22K duplicate SAP beneficiaries

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) on Saturday said they have notified concerned agencies on its findings about the 22,000 duplicated beneficiaries of the Social Amelioration Program (SAP).

DSWD Undersecretary Rene Glen Paje said the recovery of the benefit will not be difficult especially if the recipients are 4Ps beneficiaries.

“Kung ito po ay mga regular beneficiaries natin katulad ng 4Ps, mababawi po natin sapagkat hindi na natin isusunod ang kanilang kabayaran sa mga buwan na darating. Kung anong halaga ang nadoble sa kanila ay mababawi natin (If they are regular beneficiaries like in 4Ps, we will be able to take it back since we will not be giving their benefit in the payout for the following months),” Paje stated in the Laging Handa briefing.

The department shared that the distribution of SAP benefits is being expedited in targeted areas including NCR, Benguet, Caraga, and Davao Region. The DSWD also reported that more than 1,200 LSIs have been given intervention kits.

“Tinatarget po natin na maipaabot ‘yong ayuda na ‘yan bago matapos itong buwan… June 25 (ang) itinakdang deadline pasa sa ating sarili (We are aiming to distribute the aid by month’s end… June 25 is our set deadline),” Paje said.
Meanwhile, The DSWD also disclosed 11 of its employees have tested positive for COVID-19 and have been brought to hospitals. Frontline workers have been issued personal protective equipment to ensure their safety.
