MANILA — The National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC) on Wednesday said consultations on the possible wage adjustment in Caraga are currently ongoing.
“On going consultation. Public hearing still have to be scheduled by the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB)-Caraga,” NWPC Executive Director Criselda Sy said in a text message to reporters.
The RTWPB Caraga has just reached its wage order anniversary date on December 8, 2018.
It is the only Board, out of the 17 RTPWBs in the country, that has yet to issue a salary adjustment.
Under the law, a wage order can only be issued once a year, and that no petition for wage increase may be entertained within the 12-month period from the effectivity of the Wage Order.
The present minimum wage rate in the Caraga region is PHP305.
It is composed of the provinces of Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Dinagat Island, and the Cities of Butuan, Surigao, Bislig, Cabadbaran, Bayugan, and Tandag.
