Cops now probing case of discovered bodies in Quezon City

The Quezon City Police District Crime Investigation and Detection Unit (QCPD-CIDU) is now investigating the puzzling spate of killings which apparently happened almost simultaneously within the city.

Barangay personnel found a body that was handcuffed with multiple gunshot wounds along Katipunan Avenue. At least 10 meters away from the incident was another body with handcuffs and a gunshot wound in the head.

Authorities have recovered bullet shells and identification cards at the crime scene. They are now verifying if the IDs match the victims’ identities.
The QCPD-CIDU is now reviewing CCTV footages in the said areas as part of the investigation. The CIDU is also urging people with vital information on the identity of victims to coordinate with them.

Meanwhile, a body stuffed in a sack with its head wrapped in packaging tape was also discovered along Saint Mary Street, E. Rodriguez Avenue in Cubao. The victim was identified as Dencio Torio.
He was believed to have been strangled due to the visible ligature marks on his neck and shoulder.

“Hindi naman siya gunshot wounds. Lumalabas during the cross-examination initially parang sinakal siya. Pero hindi pa rin tayo doon nagtatapos kasi hintayin pa rin natin ang autopsy (It’s not gunshot wounds. The cross-examination reveals that he was strangled. But it does not end there since we still have to wait for the autopsy),” QCPD CIDU Chief PMaj. Elmer Monsalve stated.

Monsalve added that the latter case is isolated from the two discovered bodies.
