Create sample ballot, voters urged

MANILA — With less than two months before the May 13 mid-term elections, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Friday urged voters to create sample ballot, which they can use in the polls.

“Voters can copy (the ballot) that is posted in our website, they can print it out for them to have their own sample ballot,” Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez said in a television interview.

He added that through this, voters will have an idea on whom to vote for.

Jimenez said it is important for the electorate to start early in choosing and scrutinizing the candidates.

“They should learn about their strength and weaknesses and what do you want them to do in terms of service. They can visit our website for them to see the official ballot and for them to know the candidates who are running in their area,” Jimenez added.

Last month, the Comelec has posted the official ballots on its website to give time for voters to familiarize themselves with the documents to be used in the May polls.
