CSC holds online career fair in celebration of 121st anniversary

By Pearl Gumapos

In celebration of the 121st Philippine Civil Service Anniversary, the Civil Service Commission (CSC) will conduct the 2021 Government Online Career Fair (GOCF) from Sept. 20 to 24.

The GOCF is an online event in partnership with Jobstreet.com, bringing together government agencies and job seekers in a virtual environment to exchange information about job openings.

According to the CSC, government agencies from any region may identify and prioritize critical or hard-to-fill job vacancies and their specific requirements.

Jobseekers from any region in the country may file their applications online to their selected agency and submit the requirements, the CSC said.

Government agencies may register from Aug. 5 to 25 while job seekers can participate from Sept. 20 to 24 by clicking on the link that will be made available on the CSC website: www.csc.gov.ph.

“The CSC highly encourages application from qualified interested persons, including persons with disabilities (PWD), members of indigenous communities, and those from any sexual orientation, gender identity, and expression (SOGIE),” the CSC said.

The whole activity is free of charge.

On registration of job seekers:

First, the job applicant must have an account with JobStreet.

If the applicant has no account, the applicant must create one by visiting JobStreet.com.ph.

Click the “Free Sign Up” icon flashed on the screen and follow the instructions provided by the system.

Second, in the web browser, key in http://www.csc.gov.ph/, then click the icon/banner “2021 Government Online Career Fair” to be redirected to the GOCF landing page.

Third, download the personal data sheet (PDS) in Excel format on the same page and accomplish the data required in the PDS and upload it to e-resume (one time).

Fourth is to view participating agencies and access the job listings to choose preferred positions to apply.

The last step is to submit an application through the “Apply” button located at the bottom page of the agency posting.

The agency will be conducting the initial assessment and notify the job applicants through email or text message about the status of their application and/or additional instructions or requirements that need to be complied with by the applicant.
