DA bans meat imports from 22 ASF-affected countries

The Department of Agriculture (DA) is considering the imposition of a total ban in meat importation. The agency is currently prohibiting meat sourcing from 22 countries following calls of hog raiser groups regarding the imminent threat of the African Swine Fever to the local swine industry. The DA raised the need for alternative sources since meat processors will be affected once the ban is in place.
