DA monitors market price of rice

The Department of Agriculture (DA) continues to monitor the price of rice in the marketplace, consistent with its efforts to mitigate the cost of grain under the Rice Tariffication Law. The DA has been infusing both imported and NFA rice to prevent shortage and boosting support for the local growers through the SURE Aide Fund to even the playing field. The DA also warned rice hoarders against the practice of holding off stocks that affect pricing in the Philippine market.
