Davao City residents warned against illegal collection of vax fees

Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte warned residents against individuals who collect fees in exchange for vaccination slot reservation in the city.

The mayor said they received a complaint about an illegal collection made at the Bankerohan Public Market during her 87.5 Davao City Disaster Radio (DCDR) program on Monday (Aug. 23). 

Laborers and vendors wanted to get vaccinated against COVID-19 but the P120 fee collected from them was meant for snacks according to the Davao City Mayor. .

She added that there were lapses found on the city government side. Mayor Duterte stressed that any vaccination collection by its employees is forbidden.

As of Aug. 23, the city has already administered 507,032 (42.25%) first doses of COVID-19 vaccine, while 305,553 (25.6%) are fully vaccinated against the disease. – Report from Clodet Loreto (PTV Davao) / CF – bny
