Davao cops get Medalya ng Kagalingan

DAVAO CITY – The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) received three Medalya ng Kagalingan for ensuring zero crime incidence during the successful holding of three major events in the city.

City Chief of Police Senior Supt. Alexander Tagum said Police Regional Office (PRO) 1I Director Manuel Gaerlan gave DCPO the three medals of efficiency for zero crime incidents during the city’s hosting of the Davao Regional Athletic Association (DAVRAA), the Alveo Ironman 70.3, and the Araw ng Davao celebration. All three events were held in March.

“With that, our regional director, PRO 1I Chief Superintendent Manuel Gaerlan has directed the administrative officer to award those recognition to well-deserving members of security Task Force, who provided security that time,” Tagum said.

“So almost all our personnel in Davao City Police Office received the award,” he added.

Tagum explained there were three levels of participation. The ground commanders received Medalya ng Kagalingan while supporting officers received Medalya ng Papuri or commendation medal.

According to Tagum, the DCPO deployed 5,000 police personnel, volunteer police auxiliary, soldiers and other law enforcement units in the city to ensure a safe and secure holding of the three events.

Earlier, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio commended the security sector and other agencies for their support during the city’s hosting of the three events. (Rhoda Grace Saron/PNA)
