DAVAO CITY – The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) is all set to implement its security plan for All Saints and All Souls Day next week in Davao City, which remains on full alert to ensure a safe and secure city.
DCPO Director, Sr. Superintendent Alexander Tagum, said he will start deploying police and security forces in 58 private and public cemeteries two days before the observance of All Saints and All Souls Day on November 1 and 2, respectively.
“DCPO personnel will be on full alert to ensure that you and your home will be secured and safe on these special days,” Tagum said.
He said there will be augmentation from the Police Regional Office (PRO) XI to ensure maximum security coverage on all major and minor cemeteries.
Tagum reminded those visiting the grave of their loved ones on the do’s and don’ts which will be implemented on November 1 and 2.
As usual, Tagum said the public is prohibited from bringing alcoholic beverages, bladed weapons, gambling paraphernalia and loud musical instruments inside cemeteries.
During the City Peace and Order Council last week, the Public Safety and Security Command (PSSCC) announced there will be about 4,000 police and security forces to be deployed for Oplan Kaluluwa.
City Transport and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO) announced it is ready with the traffic plan for Oplan kaluluwa. CTTMO has started putting traffic signage and road signs on re-routing of vehicles especially roads leading to cemeteries.
The deployment will not be concentrated in cemeteries but also in all vital installations and areas of convergence like terminal, churches, airports and seaports.
CTTMO Chief Dionisio Abude also vowed no compassion for motorists violating traffic rules especially on parking. CTTMO traffic enforcers will also be aided by traffic force multipliers. (Lilian C. Mellejor/PNA)
