The Police Regional Office (PRO) 11 (Davao Region) has confiscated P3.8 million worth of illegal drugs and arrested 76 suspects during a series of anti-drug operations from Nov. 11 to 17.

In a statement on Tuesday, PRO-11 chief Brig. Gen. Leon Victor Rosete Maranan said of the 76 arrested drug suspects, eight were high-value individuals (HVI).

He said the confiscated illegal drugs include suspected shabu and marijuana leaves with an estimated street value of P3.8 million and P18,919, respectively.

Among the arrested high-value targets were Davao Region’s No. 7 HVI alias “Nanay,” arrested in Muslim Village in Barangay Ilang, Davao City on Nov. 15; No. 9 target, alias “Gemar,” who was apprehended in Barangay Buhangin, Davao City on Nov. 13; and alias “Chief,” No. 8 high-value target, arrested in Barangay Catalunan Pequeño, Davao City on Nov. 11.

Rosete said the results of the weeklong anti-drug operations reflect the effectiveness of the PNP’s recalibrated strategy under PNP Chief Rommel Francisco Marbil’s directives to combat illegal drugs to ensure a safer and drug-free community.

He reported that the PRO-11 had arrested 200 wanted personalities since Nov. 1 this year under the PNP’s intensified drive against criminals.

“The series of arrests of high-value criminals is the result of the joint effort and dedication of the PNP, community, and stakeholders in keeping the region safe and secured,” he said.

Rosete pledged to intensify patrol operations, police visibility, and law enforcement activities.
