DBM approves Php 5B additional funds for OFW repatriation

The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has approved the release of additional Php 5 billion for the repatriation of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) affected by the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) have requested for additional funds to assist Filipinos who wish to return to the Philippines.

The OWWA has expressed its gratitude for the DBM’s decision.

According to OWWA Administrator Hans Cacdac, the fund is a big help for the food, accommodation and transportation of returning OFWs. – PTV News
