The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) on Thursday, April 13, announced that it has released the fund for a one-time rice assistance grant to qualified employees of national government agencies.

In a statement, the DBM said the total fund released to the National Food Authority (NFA) amounted to P1,182,905,000.

“The rice assistance will benefit 1,892,648 government workers, including Job Order and Contract of Service personnel,” the DBM said.

“The rice assistance shall be granted to beneficiaries who are still in the government service and/or engaged by government agencies as of Nov. 30, 2022,” it added.

The special allotment release order and corresponding notice of cash allocation was approved by DBM Secretary Amenah Pangandaman on April 12.

Under the Administrative Order No. 2 signed by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. in December last year, the beneficiaries of the one-time grant shall be given at a uniform quantity of 25 kilograms of rice. -ag
