Death toll for severe weather systems now at 30

Reported deaths from the combined effects of the southwest monsoon and tropical storms Crising, Dante, and Emong have soared to 30, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said in its Sunday update.

Of the 30 fatalities reported so far, 13 are confirmed as of this time.
These deaths can be broken down into nine for the National Capital Region (NCR), two for Region 3 (Central Luzon), one for Region 10 (Northern Mindanao), and another one for Caraga region.

Still undergoing validation are reports of 17 which are as follows: six for Region 6 (Western Visayas), four for CALABARZON, three for the Negros Island Region, two for Northern Mindanao, one for MIMAROPA, and another one for Region 11 (Davao Region).

As of this time, affected families are placed at 1,536,381 equivalent to 5,573,336 persons residing in 6,053 barangays in 17 regions.

The NDRRMC also said that as of this posting, 51,681 families are being aided in 1,689 evacuation centers, while another 34,296 families are being aided outside.

The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) earlier said affected families include those displaced and those not needing transfer or removal from their residence.

Damaged houses are placed at 3,592, of which 2,949 are classified as “partially damaged” and 643 as “totally damaged.”

Meanwhile, agriculture damage is estimated at P484.4 million, while those in infrastructure was placed at over P5 billion. (PNA)
