Delay eyed for Skyway Extension Project completion

The completion of the Skyway Extension Project may be moved to January 2021 following the steel girder accident in Muntinlupa City last Saturday.

“We’re thinking December, but I think now it might be delayed for another month…to review the safety protocols,” Department of Public Works and Highways Sec. Mark Villar explained.

“There’s an ongoing investigation but definitely there we’re looking for liability,” Villar added.

The DPWH has assured that the incident which killed an individual and injured several people will not be repeated.

Meanwhile, flood mitigation projects and other plans for calamities are ongoing nationwide.

“Resiliency programs. Meaning for flood control, earthquake resiliency to readjust the integrity of the structures. We are investing everything. Kasama na ‘yan sa (That is included in) Build, Build, Build,” Villar detailed. – Report from Allan Francisco
