DENR-Ilocos Norte offers free land survey

LAOAG CITY — The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) in Ilocos Norte, through its Technical Services Division, is inviting lot owners to take advantage of the ongoing free land survey for lots zoned within residential land for original land titling application.

Sheila Camagon, chief of the TSD of the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO), said in a press conference Tuesday that surveying and titling of alienable and disposable land no longer entail a long and tedious process with an improved computerized information system that consolidates land data and records in the country.

The system is designed for quick and easy processing, tracking and retrieval of land information.

For an average processing of 120 days, the DENR reported applicants can get hold of their original residential titles, provided there are no other claims and conflict concerning the said lot with a residential structure.

“Subject of free land surveys are lots zoned within residential land for original application of land title only,” Camagon said.

For the past three years, the system has been in place in the province which assisted residents secure their real estate properties.

Previously, applicants must wait for six months to one year for the approval of land surveys alone. This time, it only takes about five working days to finish a simple subdivision survey with complete requirements.

In cooperation with the Provincial Assessor’s Office, the free land titling activity locally known as “Titulo a Natalged: Sagut ni Ilokano” program guarantees land tenure security for every Filipinos. It also aims to resolve issues of land ownership in the province.
