The Department of Education (DepEd) shares President Rodrigo R. Duterte’s view regarding the opening of classes this year.
Secretary Leonor Briones clarified that there is no misunderstanding between the DepEd and the President since face-to-face learning is really not allowed amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Blended learning will be employed. As a mode of instruction, it will include not only online classes but also the use of TV, radio, and sending printed learning modules to the house of the students.
Meanwhile, remote enrollment will be implemented. Aside from online enrollment, the department will also ask the help of LGUs to bring the enrollment forms to the parents of the students. 1.4 million have already registered in January and February.
The DepEd said that parents will have to decide if they are going to enroll their children this year.
