The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) continues to remind telecommunications subscribers of the April 26 deadline for Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) registration.

DICT Undersecretary and Spokesperson Anna Mae Yu Lamentillo stressed the significance of SIM registration for cybersecurity.

“SIM registration is an important component of the nation’s cybersecurity agenda; text scams and fraud have been cut down significantly since its implementation,” Lamentillo said.

“Completing the registration will protect not only you, but other subscribers as well,” she added.

“This is why we urge the public to register their SIM for their convenience and protection,” she continued.

There have been 41,002,234 total registered SIMs, or 24.26% of the 168,977,773 million subscribers nationwide, as of March 6.

Smart Communications Inc. reported 20,882,843 registered SIMs or 30.71% of its 67,995,734 subscribers.

Globe Telecom Inc. had 17,005,201 or 19.35% of its 87,873,936 total subscribers.

DITO Telecommunity Corp. reported 3,114,190 registered SIMs or 23.76% of 13,108,103 subscribers.

The DICT reminded the public to be vigilant during the registration and register only through the following official links:

SMART – smart.com.ph/simreg or simreg.smart.com.ph
