DILG suspends road clearing operations due to COVID-19 protocol

The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) has suspended the road clearing operation 2.0 to give way to the government’s protocol in preventing the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).

According to DILG Secretary Eduardo Año, the suspension has been issued for local government units (LGUs) to focus on the prevention of the COVID-19 in the Philippines.

The LGUs have been given a 75-day deadline to clear the roads and sidewalks which started on February 17.

Meanwhile, 41 LGUs have already declared community quarantine.
