DILG monitoring Boracay amid tourist influx

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) on Tuesday, April 19, said it is monitoring Boracay now that the tourist spot is back in operations.

DILG Undersecretary Epimaco Densing reiterated that the country is still under Alert Level 1, and people are encouraged to keep following health protocols, especially social distancing since Boracay is in full capacity.

Through the help of local government units and barangay officials, the DILG will continue urging the public to wear masks, observe social distancing, and take their COVID-19 vaccine booster shots.

The Food and Drug Administration recently announced the go signal for the administration of a second booster dose. – ag
