DND, DILG, USec. Badoy condemn rebel attacks on gov’t forces

Defense Chief Delfin Lorenzana has received the report that communist rebels have ended their unilateral ceasefire and assured the government forces are ready for new possible attacks of the New People’s Army.

Lorenzana said the scenario is not new as the rebels have been attacking with or without a ceasefire declaration, and that even the COVID-19 pandemic does not stop them.

Interior and Local Government Secretary Eduardo Aῆo denounced the latest pronouncement of the CPP-NPA-NDF and said the groups can no longer deny their motive which does not concern the welfare of the citizens but killing of their fellow Filipinos.

The DILG has already mandated the PNP to be on full-alert status.

Communications Undersecretary Lorraine Badoy also condemned the continuous attacks of the groups: “Ang end goal nila is really to (Their end goal is to) overthrow government. COVID is something that they are waiting for.”

Badoy emphasized the need of proper communication amid the pandemic and in revealing information about the enemies of the state.
