Doctors among hundreds of violators nabbed in Cebu City

The Cebu City Police Office is now strengthening its Oplan Bulabog in various areas in the city amid the increasing number of COVID-19 cases.

Almost 200 individuals were arrested in Cebu City, including private hospital doctors after having late night drinking sessions.

“One day ang Oplan Bulabog natin, nakadakip tayo ng almost 166, including ang labindalawang mga doctor (One day in our Oplan Bulabog, we nabbed 166, including 12 doctors),” Cebu City Police Office Chief Col. Josefino Ligan reported.

According to Dr. Michelle Linsalata of the Cebu City Health Office, the Cebu Medical Society is “also exploring disciplinary actions” for the doctors who violated protocols.

As of January 20, the city has 689 active cases out of its 11,575 total case count, 10,185 recoveries, and 701 deaths.

Authorities are advising authorized persons outside residence (APORs) to strictly comply with health protocols, emphasizing that they are not covered by curfew exemption when they are outside official duty.
