DOH: 13.6-M individuals received 1st booster shot

Department of Health (DOH) Undersecretary Myrna Cabotaje said on Tuesday, May 17, that a total of 43.3 million vaccinated individuals have yet to receive the first COVID-19 booster shot.

Cabotaje, who chairs the National COVID-19 Vaccination Operations Center, said only 13.6 million of the 56.9 million fully vaccinated individuals have received their first COVID-19 booster shot.

“May 13.6 million pa lang tayo na nabibigyan ng first booster, so that we will leave us about 43.3 million na puwede pang bakunahan ng first booster nila, mga 18 years old and above,” she said in the Laging Handa briefing.

Meanwhile, the health official vowed that the government will do its “best” to reach the target of 77 million fully vaccinated individuals by June 30.

The current number of fully vaccinated persons is 68.7 million. – ag
