The Department of Health (DOH) assured the public that the supply of COVID-19 booster vaccines are sufficient.

“Yes, we have enough boosters [vaccines] for the second booster considering na iyong uwede nating bigyan ng ating second booster ay iyong nabigyan lang ng first booster,” Cabotaje said during the Laging Handa public briefing.

She, however, admitted the slow uptake for the first booster shot, but said the country has enough supply for those willing to get their second booster shot.

“Sa kasalukuyang takbo ng ating pagbabakuna ng ating first booster, medyo mabagal, we will have sufficient supply for those who are willing to have their second booster kung sakaling i-open up na iyan sa ibang age group,” Cabotaje added.

About 6.78 million Filipinos have been fully vaccinated, while 31.2 million have so far received their booster shots. -gb
