DOH case bulletin to be released weekly

The Department of Health (DOH) announced that it will update the format of its case bulletin on the country’s COVID-19 situation which will be released in a weekly format.

The new format will only include severe and critical cases and the utilization rate of intensive care units (ICU) as the country moves towards transitioning to the endemic state of COVID-19.

“We have to move away from too many numbers to really analyze what all this means by highlighting ‘yung mga data or statistics that truly matter without necessarily instilling fear in the hearts of the public,” DOH Secretary Francisco Duque III said. 

Duque said they are prepared for any adjustments in case of another variant emergence.

“Masasabi natin na ito na nga ‘yung pag-transition natin from the pandemic to the endemic regime with the fundamental understanding that the COVID is here to stay,” he said.
