DOH issues guidelines on good ventilation in enclosed spaces

The Department of Health (DOH) has issued the guidelines on good ventilation in enclosed spaces while gathering more evidences regarding the possible airborne transmission of Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Department Memorandum No. 2020-0429 signed by DOH Secretary Francisco Duque III on October 8 states the guidelines on the additional minimum health standards to control the spread of COVID-19. This includes the conduct of activities in open air. Windows and doors must be opened if in an indoor setting.

Air let out by the fan or air-conditioners must be avoided. There should be working exhaust fans in restrooms. The toilet cover must be closed when flushing to avoid droplets. The use of natural ventilation and access to open air in cars is also recommended by the DOH.
