DOH, itinanggi ang pagbili ng remdesivir

Inalmahan ng Department of Health (DOH) ang ilang alegasyon ng mga kongresista na mayroon daw procurement ng remdesivir na nagkakahalaga ng P1 billion.

“The DOH clarified that while it had initially planned to procure remdesivir and other investigational drugs, the said procurement did not push through,” sabi ng DOH sa isang pahayag noong Mayo 10.

Ang remdesivir ay isa sa mga gamot na kasalukuyang inaaral bilang lunas sa COVID-19. 

“Ito pong sinasabing pino-procure natin, wala ho tayong ganun na datos o ginawa ang DOH. We will not do that because we follow also regulatory protocols,” giit naman ni DOH USec. Maria Rosario Vergeire.

Pareho kinukwestyon nitong linggo nina Deputy Speaker Lito Atienza at Anakalusugan Rep. Mike Defensor ang DOH ukol sa usapin sa naturang gamot. Ayaw ring paniwalaan ni Atienza ang paliwanag ng DOH.

“Double talk, somebody got caught in his hand in the cookie jar, that’s what it’s all about,” ani Atienza.

“Gusto ko may makulong d’yan… Kailangan may makulong, tama na ‘yan, itigil na ‘yang pagnanakaw sa gamot,” dagdag pa niya.

Batid naman ng DOH ang opinyon ng World Health Organization, pero mayroon din daw ibang pag-aaral ang bansa ukol sa nasabing gamot. 

Ikinagulat naman ni Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque ang panawagan ng ilan na ihinto na ang paggamit ng remdesivir sa bansa.

Aniya, ito ang nakapagpagaling sa kanya laban sa COVID-19.

“Nagpaalam na ako sa daigdig na ito nung pangatlong araw ng aking pagkakasakit, ganun po kasama ang aking naging pakiramdam. Pero nung binigyan po ako ng dalawang dosage ng remdesivir, pang-apat na araw, nakatayo na po ako,” sabi ni Roque sa kanyang press briefing. – Ulat ni Daniel Manalastas/AG-rir
