The Department of Health on Saturday (Oct. 9) said a majority of regions are already showing negative 2WGR, including the NCR, Region 4A and 3.
However, DOH Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire says that they are still flagging CAR, Regions 2, 9, and 4B for their high-risk case classification and positive 2WGR.
CAR, Regions 2, 9, and CARAGA are at high risk for bed and ICU utilization.
“Bagamat bumababa ang ating reproduction number, ibig sabihin, iyon pong bilang ng tao that can be infected by a confirmed person ay bumababa na po to less than one talaga,” Vergeire said in the Laging Handa public briefing.
As for hospital utilization, the DOH continues its augmentation of hospitals.
It can be 21 days or more kaya mas mabagal natin made-decongest ang mga ospital,” Vergeire said.
She said the DOH will continue its strengthened response in communities to cut off the transmission of COVID-19 among Filipinos. – PG – bny
