DOH, Metro Manila LGUs donate vaccines to Batangas

Some local government units (LGUs) in Metro Manila donated vaccine doses to Batangas, amid the threat of COVID-19 infection in its evacuation sites.

In a Facebook post on Saturday (July 3), the Batangas Public Information Office (PIO) announced that five LGUs from the National Capital Region (NCR) donated Sinovac vaccine doses to Batangas residents.

A total of 2,000 doses were donated by Manila City, while 1,500 doses came from Quezon City.

Moreso, cities of Taguig, Marikina, and Mandaluyong each shared 1,000 vaccine doses to Batangas.

The Department of Health (DOH) Region IV-A also delivered 3,500 COVID-19 doses and 3,000 antigen test kits to Laurel, Batangas.

According to the DOH, evacuees who will exhibit COVID-19 symptoms will be given priority in the antigen testing.

As of July 3, Ticub Elementary School, Laurel, Batangas shelters the most number of evacuees. Out of its 700 evacuees, 11 children and elderly are experiencing cough and colds.

Batangas Health Department recorded a total of 34,165 confirmed COVID-19 cases with  19,983 recoveries and 831 fatalities as of July 2. -rir
