DOH: PH now at ‘moderate risk’ level

The Department of Health (DOH) on Monday (Sept. 27) reported that at the national level, the country is now at ‘moderate risk’ case classification following the negative two-week growth rate.

“At the national level, we’re now at moderate risk case classification because our two-week growth rate has become a negative two-week growth rate. We’re at -4% in the recent one to two weeks, much lower than the 27% we reported the week prior,” said DOH Director Dr. Alethea de Guzman.

However, de Guzman said, the bed utilization rate for COVID-19 remains at moderate risk under 68% and the ICU utilization is at ‘high risk’ at just under 76%.

“There are still nine regions whose case classification remained to be at high risk and of those nine regions, mayroon po tayong apat and these are CAR, Regions II, I, and CARAGA, where both bed and ICU utilization remained to be at high-risk,” de Guzman said.

“Para po sa CALABARZON at Region III, ang kanilang bed at ICU utilization ay nananatili po na nasa high-risk at para po sa NCR ‘no, naka-moderate risk pa rin po ang kanilang bed utilization though it is lowered at 63% versus the 68% that we reported a few days prior. Pagdating naman po sa ating ICU utilization, tayo po ay nananatiling at high-risk at 76%, slightly lower from the 78% na na-report natin a few weeks prior,” she said.

According to de Guzman, using NCR numbers, there is a possibility of remaining at Alert Level 4. -PG-rir
