DOH reports 2.2K COVID-19 recoveries Friday

The Department of Health (DOH) on Friday reported 2,212 recoveries from COVID-19, with the country’s total recoveries now at 1,344,063 or 94.4 percent of all reported infections.

In its daily COVID-19 bulletin, the DOH also reported 6,192 new cases, bringing active cases to 55,482 or 3.9 percent of all infections.

Of these active cases, it said the majority at 91.5 percent have mild symptoms, followed by the asymptomatic at 3.8 percent, those with severe symptoms at 2 percent, with moderate symptoms at 1.44 percent, and those in critical condition at 1.4 percent.

Some 177 new deaths were also reported, with the country’s total casualties against COVID-19 at 24,973 or 1.75 percent of all infections.

Meanwhile, a total of 51,536 individuals were tested for COVID-19 based on the latest data gathered on Wednesday. Of this total, 11.4 percent tested positive for COVID-19.

The majority of healthcare facilities in the National Capital Region (NCR) remain available for COVID-19 cases, with its 1,100 beds at intensive care units (ICU) at 40 percent occupancy, 4,700 isolation beds at 37 percent occupancy, 3,500 ward beds at 34 percent occupancy, and 1,000 ventilators at 30 percent utilization.

Health care utilization for the whole country is lower, with 3,400 ICU beds at 55 percent occupancy, 19,300 isolation beds at 46 percent occupancy, 12,200 ward beds at 44 percent occupancy, and 2,000 ventilators at 34 percent utilization. (PNA) -rir
