DOJ Chief orders investigation on smuggled COVID-19 vaccine

Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Menardo Guevarra ordered an investigation on the alleged smuggling of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccines into the country.

The investigation was ordered following the criticisms hurled at the government regarding the vaccination of several members of the Presidential Security Group (PSG) without permission from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Sec. Guevarra also included in the investigation the possible violation of unauthorized distribution of the vaccine in the FDA and the Medical Practice Act.

The DOJ Chief pointed out that the said investigation will not focus solely on the PSG but on all unauthorized distribution of the vaccine. -PTV News
