DOJ Sec. Guevarra nominated for SC post

Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra has been nominated anew for a post to be vacated at the Supreme Court.

In a letter sent by the Judicial and Bar Council (JBC), retired Sandiganbayan Associate Justice Raoul Victorino nominated Guevarra whom he called “a man of justice.”

This is the second time Guevarra was nominated for an SC post. He declined the first nomination, pointing out that he was “in love” with his job as DOJ chief.

“This time, I believe, is that he will meet his true love in the other side of Padre Faura, Manila. May his true love for justice move the Secretary of Justice to the glorious and historic halls of the Supreme Court,” Victorino wrote.

The secretary expressed gratitude for the nomination and promised to carefully think the matter over before making any decision. – Report from Kenneth Paciente
