DOJ to place Tarlac shooting witnesses under WPP

The Department of Justice (DOJ) is prepared to place the witnesses of the killing of the mother and son, Sonia and Frank Gregorio, in Tarlac, under the Witness Protection Program.

This was confirmed by DOJ Secretary Menardo Guevarra but disclosed that they have not yet “received any communications from the PNP.”

“If the witnesses need protection, they may apply directly with the DOJ WPP and we shall evaluate their application for provisional coverage immediately,” the justice secretary assured.

Under the WPP, witnesses are given security to protect them from further danger arising from the crime. – Report from Kenneth Paciente
