The Department of Justice (DOJ) is ready to submit on Wednesday to the Office of the President its comments regarding the enrolled anti-terrorism bill.
“We finished our brainstorming session yesterday, examining and inter-relating with one another each and every section of the enrolled anti-terrorism Bbill… We are drafting our comments today and will send our internal communication to the Office of the President tomorrow,” DOJ Secretary Menardo Guevarra said.
“I am confident that the President will wait for and consider not only the comments of the DOJ but also those of other government agencies whose comments were requested by the Office of the Executive Secretary,” Guevarra added.
The confidentiality of DOJ’s comments will be kept. The decision will be handed over to the Office of the Executive Secretary whether or not to publicize the basis of the President’s decision regarding the bill.
Guevarra earlier assured the DOJ’s independent and fair review of the said bill. – Report from Kenneth Paciente
