DOJ warns violators under Luzon enhanced community quarantine can be arrested

The Department of Justice (DOJ) has warned that individuals not abiding by the guidelines of the Luzon enhanced community quarantine can be arrested.

According to DOJ Secretary Menardo Guevarra, Article 151 of the Revised Penal Code states that violators can be charged with resistance arrest and disobedience to a person in authority.

DOJ Sec. Guevarra has appealed to the public to cooperate with the government and abide by the stringent measures.

The Justice Chief stressed that the current status is just temporary due to the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. He added that the military and police are not enemies but are just performing their duties.
