DOLE assures assistance for workers gravely affected by COVID-19 pandemic

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has assured that assistance will be given to workers who lost their jobs due to the effect of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

According to DOLE Secretary Silvestre Bello III, the department continues on implementing its livelihood programs to help those in need and assist the affected workers earn money despite the pandemic.

Over 1.6 million workers have been gravely affected due to business closures last month.

So far, more than Php 3.24 billlion have been distributed as cash assistance under the COVID-19 Adjustment Measures Program (CAMP).
