DOLE expedites financial aid for informal workers

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) is expediting the financial aid for affected informal workers due to the Enhanced Community Quarantine in Luzon.

Secretary Silvestre Bello III has assigned the regional office of DOLE to hasten the process of releasing the funds.

The DOLE assistance covers the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Adjustment Measures Program and the livelihood aid in the displaced-disadvantaged workers of Barangay Ko, Bahay Ko.

The initial funds of the program is around PhP 2 billion.

PhP 1.5 billion is allotted for the Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

DOLE has recorded 317, 171 employees who have lost their jobs due to the ECQ.
