DOLE mulls over employers wage subsidy

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) is planning to provide assistance to employers severely affected by the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic.

According to DOLE Secretary Silvestre Bello III, the proposal is now under evaluation in which the labor department will shoulder 25 to 50 percent of an employee’s salary.

The assistance aims to protect the jobs of current employees.

Bayanihan 3 is also being proposed for the allocation of Php 40 billion fund to assist those affected by the pandemic. – PTV News
