DOTr, LandBank sign 6 partnership programs

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) and LandBank have signed six partnership programs.

In the signed agreements, a one-time cash grant will be given to public utility vehicle (PUV) operators worth P6,500 per franchise unit. Drivers will also receive aid under service contracting with an allotted budget of P5.5 billion wherein they will be paid based on the kilometers of their travel.

The DOTr has also laid out its plan on the National Standard on Cashless Transaction that includes interoperability. A pilot production testing will be conducted in the first quarter of 2021 where a master card will be used as one of the options for cashless transaction.

Around 130 modern jeepneys and public utility buses are expected to join the pilot testing. – Report from Karen Villanda
