DOTr: RFID stickers installation to go beyond Dec. 1

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) stated that the Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) sticker installation will continue beyond December 1.

According to DOTr Assistant Secretary Goddes Hope Libiran, “beyond December 1, may RFID stickering lane pa rin na padadaanan sa mga motorista na wala pang sticker. Doon sila dapat na dumaan. Mayroon ding installation site bago mag-toll road na pwede niyang pag-installan (There will still be an RFID stickering lane for motorists without stickers beyond December 1. They must stick to that lane. There is also an installation site before the toll road.)”

ASec. Libiran warned that a motorist may commit a violation if he/she forces to proceed to an RFID lane without having the sticker.

“‘Iyan ay mangyayari kung dumaan ang motorista sa RFID ONLY lane. Kahit naman po kasi ngayon, may penalty ‘yan. (That will happen if the motorist drives through the RFID ONLY lane. Even now, there is a penalty for that.)”

The RFID stickers installation can now be accessed through the Online RFID Reservation and Appointment System (ORRAS) to avoid long lines in the installation sites. It can be accessed using a phone and a QR code scanner wherein it must scan the EasyTrip QR code seen in the social media pages of NLEX, CAVITEX, and EasyTrip Facebook pages.

After scanning, registration is required where a time, day, and location will be asked then an e-mail along with a QR code will be received. The QR code will be presented to the EasyTrip Assistant and will then proceed with the installation after payment.

The Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC) informed that EasyTrip Corporation will initially open by appointment-only RFID sticker installation in Cavitex Paranaque Plaza Northbound; Cavitex Paranaque Plaza Southbound; C5 South Link Westbound, CALAX Greenfield (Mamplasan); Shell Pamplona, Alabang-Zapote Rd., Las Piñas City; Shell Panapaan, Bacoor, Cavite (in front of Puregold Bacoor); Shell Real 2, Aguinaldo Highway, Imus, Cavite (near Maynilad – Welcome to Imus Arch); NLEX Drive and Dine, Canumay West, Valenzuela City. – Report from Karen Villanda
