DOTr: Vulnerable individuals are not allowed to use public transportation under GCQ

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has clarified that some individuals are not allowed to use public transportation under the general community quarantine.

According to the DOTr, senior citizens, pregnant women, and individuals who are susceptible to diseases are not allowed to use the mass transport system since the government does not want them to contract coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

The Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) will further discuss the exemptions in the guidelines especially if the considered vulnerable individuals need to obtain food and services or if they are employed.

The DOTr has emphasized that health and safety of the Filipinos are its priority. – PTV News
