Downward trend of COVID-19 cases seen in QC

By Katrina Gracia Consebido

The number of newly reported COVID-19 cases in Quezon City continues to decrease, with daily average cases dropping from 249 last week to 201 this week.

The positivity rate also declined to 14.0% from 15.5%. The positivity rate refers to the number of positives over those tested for COVID-19.

Quezon City’s reproduction number (R0) continued to go down to 0.96. The count indicates the rate of transmission of the virus. An R0 of less than 1 means that each confirmed case of COVID-19 has a small chance of being contagious, or causing a new infection.

Meanwhile, the city remains at moderate risk level due to the increased risk exposure to COVID-19.

The public is encouraged to continue to comply with minimum public health protocols and receive their vaccines and booster shots to prevent the virus from spreading.
