DPWH: Filipino workers are prioritized in projects

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark Villar assured that Filipinos are being prioritized over Chinese workers in their projects..

Responding to comments of senators on the increasing number of Chinese laborers in the department’s infrastructure projects, Sec. Villar pointed out that their policy of giving priority to Filipino workers has long been implemented.

The public works chief also clarified that the number of Filipinos in the DPWH construction sites are still higher than their Chinese counterparts who are employed for their expertise in new infrastructure technology.
