DPWH relocating to new gov’t center in Clark by 2020

CLARK, Pampanga — Following the the relocation of the Department of Transportation (DOTr) in Clark City in Pampanga, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is now planning to follow suit.

During the Philippine Economic Briefing at the ASEAN Convention Center here Friday, DPWH Secretary Mark Villar said the agency will be moving its office to Clark.

In a separate interview, Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) President and Chief Executive Officer Vivencio Dizon told the Philippine News Agency that the DPWH will house its central office in the National Government Administrative Center (NGAC) within the New Clark Green City, the largest land development so far of the government-owned and controlled corporation.

Dizon confirmed that DPWH will be one of the first movers in the NGAC along with the agencies under the government’s resiliency program such as Department of Interior and Local Government, Office of Civil Defense, and Department of Social Welfare and Development, among others.

The first government building will rise in the Phase 1 of the NGAC, which is expected to be delivered by the last quarter of 2019 along with the two world-class sports facilities for the country’s hosting of Southeast Asian Games, two buildings of athletic dormitory, and two residential buildings for government housing. (Kris Crismundo/PNA)
