DPWH resumes repair of EDSA this weekend

MANILA — The Department of Public Works and Highways – National Capital Region (DPWH–NCR) will resume road rehabilitation activities along Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (EDSA) and other national roads in Quezon City starting Saturday.

In a travel advisory posted on the DPWH website, DPWH–NCR Director Melvin Navarro said the road repairs covering four sections of EDSA will begin at 11 p.m. on April 6, 2018.

These are: southbound direction from M. Ignacio Diaz to P. Tuazon Boulevard, 1st lane from the center island and from Eugenio Lopez to near Scout Borromeo, inner most lane; and the northbound direction fronting Vertis North to Trinoma Mall, 3rd lane and fronting FF Cruz to Mapagmahal Street, 1st lane from sidewalk.

Also, other major roads that will undergo repair works are: southbound directions of Visayas Avenue in front of PCOO, inner lane, and A. Bonifacio Avenue between Mauban to C-3 Road; and the northbound directions of Quirino Highway, Lagro near Mater Carmeli, inner lane, and Congressional Avenue from San Beda to Visayas Avenue, 2nd lane.

Navarro advised motorists to avoid these road sections and take possible alternative routes while the road repair is ongoing.

He added that the affected lanes will re-open at 5:00 a.m. on Monday, April 9, 2018. (DPWH-PR/PNA)
