DPWH to conduct weekend road works in Q.C, Pasig and Caloocan

MANILA, Aug. 4 — The Department of Public Works and Highways will conduct repairs on nine major thoroughfares in three cities of Metro Manila over the weekend.

DPWH-National Capital Region (DPWH-NCR) Director Melvin Navarro announced that road reblocking and repairs would be conducted in the following areas from 11 p.m. Friday, Aug. 4, 2017, until 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 7.

The affected areas in Quezon City include the second lane, southbound direction of A. Bonifacio Avenue between Isarog Street to Calavite Street; southbound lane, Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (EDSA) near Roosevelt Avenue; second lane, northbound direction of Quirino Highway between T. Urbano to Mindanao Avenue; northbound direction of Mindanao Tunnel in Mindanao Avenue; third lane, northbound direction of Congressional Avenue Extension between Tandang Sora to Luzon Avenue; and first lane, westbound direction of Luzon Avenue between Commonwealth to Congressional Avenue Extension.

Road repairs in Pasig City cover the southbound direction of C-5 road near Julia Vargas; and northbound direction of Manila East Road in front of SM East Ortigas.

In Caloocan City, works will be undertaken at the northbound direction of Mac Arthur Highway near Monumento Circle.

The DPWH advised affected motorists to take alternate routes due to expected traffic build-up at the construction areas. (PR/PNA)
