DSWD explains unspent ₱83B-fund

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has explained the reasons behind the unspent funds worth ₱83 billion. These include the successive onslaught of typhoons, the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, lack of manpower, the guidelines of the Commission on Audit (COA), problems in bidding, and logistics causing the delay of its several programs.

The department emphasized that it is doing the best it can to respond to the needs of Filipinos. It also clarified that ₱48.3 billion from the unspent funds are allotted for the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps). – PTV News
